Living Well Wednesday–2/9/2011

Well,  [switch to announcer voice] It has come to my attention that technical difficulties beyond our control are continuing to be bothersome….

Sorry about no vlog today.  Still having internet connectivity issues, but as I have a new Droid 2 phone [hear angels singing] I can at least check in on my email regularly.  Whew!  I was getting a little bit twitchy about that!

As for me, I have had a trying week overall.  Lots of mishaps and miscommunications to make it difficult.  Had a weekend full of autistic teenage meltdowns–yikes!  Now, he has a bad cold, so that may have triggered loads of the angst we were dealing with.  So, to sum up, on a personal note, crazy week.

As for the weight loss, I am firmly planted back on my doctor approved moderately low carb plan and I did lose some weight (which is the high point of this otherwise insane week).  If I calculated correctly, I lost 3.6 lbs after holding steady for a bit.  So, I guess you never know how your body will react sometimes!

Looking back, although I have been bummed by what seemed like slow progress and a lot of bouncing around with the same few pounds, I have actually lost a total of 11.6 lbs since the first of the year.   There is nothing like looking at the big picture to help put things in perspective for you!  I guess it is kind of hard to be too bummed about that.

But, on the other hand, I still need to lose 8.4 more pounds to have completely undone the damage that I did over the holidays and be back at “ground zero” for continuing on my weight loss journey.

Still lagging behind on the exercise.  I know that it will likely do me a lot of good, so I need to get back on that wagon.  Can’t do much for my upper body with the tendonitis, but I can walk or do some low impact something without the big arm movements.  I need to abandon my excuses and get to it.

    Chin up Jan! I’ve been working on my weight for over a year (geeezzzz!)and I’m FINALLY down to the last 10 pounds. We’ll get there eventually–together OK?
