All About Me in 28 Days (Day 9)

Hee hee!  I just love this one!  Today, I am going to introduce you to the person that I do the most crazy things with.

Premier Designs Regional Rally Atlanta 2011

Readers, meet Misty.  Misty, these are my readers.  Now, doesn’t it feel good that we are all getting acquainted? Of course it does!

Misty is, first and foremost, my partner in crime.  There.  Now it is out in the open and I can tell you that I wouldn’t trade it for the world.  When it comes time to do something utterly thoughtless and stupid in public, Misty is the gal you want to have at your side!  I know that she has my back through thick, thin, fat, and stupid.  Everybody needs a friend like that.

Misty is who you call into your classroom to lock the door and help teach a bunch of high school age how to disco dance for their upcoming disco themed prom.  Guess how I know that one?  We introduced the seventies in all their nauseating glory to those kids so they could bump, hustle, and boogie with the best of them.  Good times.  Good times….

“…I’m gonna put on, my, my, my, my, my boogie shoes and boogie with you!….”

Sing it, K.C.!

Misty and I even took the same guy to the prom.  Different years, but still.  We figured that one out with the help of my students one day.  We were discussing how you could have a really lovely prom gown without, well, showing everything you have, so to speak.  Consider it a gentle modesty reminder.  So we decided to bring in our old Senior prom photos to show the kids.  We figured that they would get a kick out of ‘old school’.   We brought out the photos and the kids were flabbergasted.   We thought they liked our cool dresses (mine was Gunne Sax, btw).  They went, “that’s the same GUY!”  We laughed our butts off at that one.

He was my neighbor and my Mom’s friend’s son.  I needed a date to the prom, so we went as friends.  We had fun.

Misty and he dated seriously for years.  That is how he ended up at the prom with her.  How funny!

We then realized that we had met as teens through this fella.  I would have been 17 and Misty was 14.  We hadn’t even known.  We had met again as adults, clicked, and then became best buds.

So, when I say that it feels like I have really known Misty longer than I have–I actually could have!

I think that we are so close largely because we aren’t too much alike.  I am more reserved than Misty.  Misty is gregarious and fun loving and she knows EVERYONE!  I am not kidding.  In networking terms, she is a superconnector.  She brings me out of myself when I need it.  I am better for having been her friend.

Now, I’ve gotta call Misty so we can get in some more trouble!
