Spread the Word!

Okay folks.  I NEED your help!  There is a wonderful program for teens that is put on by the Georgia Ornithological Society.  It is a 5 day camp on the Georgia coast to work with Biologists and Ornithologists to learn about shore birds, do some bird banding and get some hands on experience with some fantastic (and successful) conservancy efforts.

The program is called Camp Talon.  It is an amazing experience for any teen who is interested in nature, Biology, or birding.  This is the kind of hands on experience that is fantastic for college applications, especially for a kid that wants to pursue a science degree!

The problem we have (and this is where YOU come in) is that last year, the program didn’t hold due to a lack of interest. The GOS just hasn’t been able to get the word out.  My youngest son is dying to attend (he just wasn’t old enough last year) and the program won’t hold if we can’t get the info in the hands of the kids and parents in time.

So, please help me to spread the word.  I’m not asking for money.  I’m not asking you to buy products.  I am asking you to send me your email address so I can send you the info.  Then, just forward it to parents of a kid you know.  Send it to a teacher and ask him/her to forward it to the right person.  Forward to someone in a homeschooling group.  Send it to a youth pastor (who may know of a kid).  Send it to ANYONE and ask them to keep forwarding it so that it can eventually get to the right people!

YOU DO NOT HAVE TO BE A GEORGIA RESIDENT!  It will up your transportation costs a bit, but in you are in an adjoining state, it”s not that bad of a drive.

Thanks for letting me make this small request of you.  When you think of all the crazy chain letters that go around the email (forward this to 537 people in the next 10 minutes, and….) it only makes sense to help send out information that will help a kid work on doing something real and good and wholesome!  Feel free to link to this post, tweet it, paint it on your backside–whatever!  I appreciate it!
