Sad Song

It was really hard for me to come up with a song that made me truly sad.  I tend to hold on to songs that are wonderful, beautiful, or full of fun memories.  I don’t really have break-up songs or anything like that to get a tad maudlin over.

That being said, this song was the hymn that I remember singing with my family when at my Granny’s funeral.  It was her favorite song.  This is my only really clear memory that I have of her passing.  I was in the 3rd grade.

I actually love this song.  It is so hopeful to me.  I have been known to sing it around my house on a happy day, but I was an adult before I could hear (or sing) this song without tearing up a bit.  Every time I hear it, I will be thinking of Granny.
