LWW 2.8.2012

Welcome back to this week’s installment of Living Well Wednesday, a meme hosted by the lovely and talented blogger, Natalie Collinson.  Each week, bloggers link up to discuss how they have fared that week toward reaching goals that they have set for themselves.  We hope you will join us over atNatalie’s blog and either participate with a post, or check out what we are up to this week.

This week has been full of ups and downs for me.  I am trying to be a bit more mindful of portion sizes and making better food choices in general.  I read Lynsey’s recent article on portion control and I am so impressed with how she is done!  I have eaten more veggies and fruits this week to displace some of the poorer choices.

We went on a family outing this past weekend to the Museum of Arts and Sciences in Macon, Georgia and the Ocmulgee Indian Mounds.  Unfortunately, the planetarium was being renovated, so we went into the portable dome for the show.  It was nice, but set up for a younger crowd than my boys and sitting on the floor wasn’t the very best for my fanny!  The Indian Mounds were great, but the steep stairs did me in!  We did get a nice long walk in on a sunny day, which was a treat in and of itsself.  But, it just hit home for me that I need to get in better shape for these little adventures.

I am waiting (not so patiently) on my new Sports Bra to arrive that I ordered through Essential Bodywear.  Once that comes in, I can go to Zumba and be, well, supported.  I am looking forward to that.  I haven’t danced in YEARS!  I am sure I will add the comic relief to the classes!

On the health front, I am still battling the sinus drainage, cough, and diminishing voice that has come with some bizarre allergy that is going around.  My money is on mold from all of the rains that we have had.  We have had precious few days of sunshine in a row and things don’t totally dry out before the next showers roll in.  I have met several ladies in the same boat, but since it is allergy based and I am already on allergy medicine, I have decided to drink lots and lots of cinnamon-ginger tea to see if that will help to clear my lungs.  Can’t hurt.

How have you fared toward your goals this week?

  1. Hey Jan,

Oh my gosh, you have been busy!

I can’t wait until my Thomas is a little older and I can take him places like the Planetarium and Science Museum – I bet your boys had a blast!

    Enjoy your Zumba!
